A certain class of minds shrink from aggressiveness as if it were a sin. Their temperament forbids them to feel the delight of battle and they look on what they cannot understand as something monstrous and sinful... To ask masses of mankind to act as saints, to rise to the height of divine love and practise it in relation to their adversaries or oppressors is to ignore human nature... Hinduism recognizes human nature and makes no such impossible demand. To impose on politics the Brahminical duty of saintly sufferance, is to preach varNasankara, and to destroy society and the race.

Aggression is unjust only when unprovoked, violence unrighteous when used wantonly or for unrighteous ends. It is a barren philosophy which applies a mechanical rule to all actions, or takes a word [non-violence] and tries to fit all human life into it... Ramdas is not complete without Shivaji. To maintain justice and prevent the strong from despoiling and the weak from being oppressed is the function for which the Kshatriya was created. Therefore, says Srikrishna in the Mahabharat, God created battle and armour, the sword, the bow and the dagger.

మహోత్కృష్టమైన తెలుగు భాష గళసీమలో మౌక్తిక మణిహారం హరికథ అను ప్రక్రియ। తెలుగు భాషకే సొంతమైన ఈ హరికథకు ఆద్యుడు ఆ నారద మహర్షి। పూర్వకాలంలో పండిత పామర ప్రశంసలను అందుకొని అత్యంత లోకప్రియమై మోక్షమార్గాల్లో ఒకటిగా ఖ్యాతి చెందిన ఈ హరికథను వినని తెలుగువాడుండడు అనడంలో అతిశయోక్తి ఎంత మాత్రం లేదు। బ్రహ్మశ్రీ కోట సచ్చిదానంద శాస్త్రి గారు పరమ విఖ్యాత హరికథా భాగవతులు। ఆయనకున్న ఖ్యాతిని వివరంచడం అంటే "జగమెరిగిన బ్రాహ్మడికి ॥।" అన్న చందంగా ఉంటుంది। తన అద్భుతమైన, అనర్గళమైన వాక్పటిమతో, సుశ్రావ్యమైన సంగీత, నాద, తాళ పాండిత్యంతో, శ్రోతల్ని రసమాధుర్యంలో ఓలలాడించడంలో ఆయన సిద్ధహస్తులు। ఈ హరికథలు శ్రీ రామ నవమి సందర్భంగా ఆయన మావూరైన జగిత్యాలయందు ధరూర్ క్యాంపు నందు కొలువైయున్న శ్రీ సీతారామ స్వామి ఆలయంలో ప్రవచించినప్పుడు రికార్డు చేయడం జరిగింది। మా మామగారైన శ్రీ చొప్పకట్ల శ్రీరామ మూర్తిగారు ఈ కథలను రికార్డు చేసి నా భాగ్యవశాన నాకు అందించడం జరిగింది। నా వరకు నాకు ఇది ఒక అంతులేని విలువైన సంపద। దీన్ని మీకు అందించడం ద్వారా నేను పొందిన ఆనందం వర్ణనాతీతం। దురదృష్టవశాన ఈ రెండు హరికథలూ పూర్తిగా లేవు। "అధికస్య అధికం ఫలం" అన్నట్లు యెంత లభిస్తే అంతే ఆనందం। భవదీయుడు, నాగరాజ శర్మ రొట్టె
